RenderX announces a beta release of DiType 2.0. This version includes a new implementation of scalability on architectures with multiple CPUs/cores, increased performance of PostScript backend, and updated fonts for a wide subrange of the Unicode code points.
Along with this beta release, we launch DiType 2.0 beta testing programme. Participants will receive personal licenses for DiType 2.0 and DiType DevKit valid during one month. They are encouraged to install and try DiType 2.0 in any workflow and integrate it with the help of DevKit to existing or new applications. Of course, they are also encouraged to report every issue faced to support@renderx.com.

Three new online services have been released:
DoTeX - DocBook As LaTeX - is a service to format DocBook document and get PDF or PostScript documents which look like LaTeX formatted. Try DoTeX here: http://webdemo.renderx.com/dotex.
WikiBook2PDF - get your favorite WikiBooks printed to PDF here: http://webdemo.renderx.com/wiki2pdf.
BlogPaper - feeds you are subscribed to on Bloglines.com are aggregated to a PDF newspaper for off-line reading or printing. The newspaper served here: http://webdemo.renderx.com/blogpaper.
Of course, all the three services are built ontop of DiType.

RenderX has released DiType 1.6 and DiType DevKit.
DiType DevKit now also includes:
connectors, API and code samples for integrating DiType in client-side applications written in C and C++.
DiType 1.6 supports:
- text-shadow,
- background images and related extension attributes,
- rx:ruler extension for line numbering,
- hyphenation in many languages through pattern files, optional re-encoding tables and related configuration,
- somewhat faster PS backend,
- error reporting on overflow in absolute containers,
- page-number-citation[-last] work correctly if affected by initial-property-set.
A number of bugs have also been fixed.

RenderX has released DiType 1.5 and DiType DevKit.
DiType DevKit contains:
connectors, API and code samples for integrating DiType in client-side applications written in Python, C#, VB.NET and Java.
DiType 1.5 introduces:
DiType User Guide - the documentation (incomplete),
- distributions for Linux and FreeBSD include the standard GUI applications,
- Mac OS X distribution is a metapackage,
- the standard applications have been refactored,
- installation/uninstallation on Windows has been improved.
A number of bugs have also been fixed.

RenderX has released DiType 1.4.
The distributions of the new version require a license file.
DiType 1.4 introduces:
environment variables DITYPE_DATA_PORT and DITYPE_HTTP_PORT affect where both ditype server and clients (and connectors) bind. DITYPE_HOST is to make clients connect remotely. See DiTypeConfiguration.,
- license checking (lambda space does not start without a valid license),
- a faster preprocessor (refactored),
- changes in XSL 1.1 schema (input validation),
- schemas for config files and validation of those files at server start-up,
- validator prints line and column numbers,
- windows installer can register service and start ditype-server in postinstall.
A number of bugs have also been fixed.
This is again an internal release. Distributions are not publicly available.

RenderX has released DiType 1.3.
The distributions of the new version are available for a wider range of platforms: Windows XP, MacOSX Intel, MacOSX PPC, Linux and FreeBSD.
DiType 1.3 introduces:
support for TrueType fonts in PostScript and PDF backends,
- an implementation of 'border collapse' feature,
- proper handling of signals and 'kill' requests to the spaces on all platforms,
- a new graphic server,
- direct connection of the PS backend to the core,
- a number of optimizations and refactoring jobs,
- enhanced logging facilities,
- a new Registry module responsible for configuration,
- a new windows service called 'ditype'.
A number of bugs have also been fixed.
This is an internal release. Distributions are not publicly available.
